Using the MODIS KML file and Google Earth, here’s the updated animated fire map for the Goodwin Fire.
Update through 4:36am.
This is a “trailing 24 hours” animation and only shows the hot spots in any previous 24 hour period.
Well, this is just disappointing.
After the big tease from the sheriff’s office about a big update, this is not what I wanted to hear.

Goodwin Fire Update:
Total acres burned is approximately 26,000. Containment is at 51%. No new evacuation orders have been issued, and no change in the status of those areas which have been evacuated.
