component, which support up-hill runs as winds and temperatures increase.
Significant Events

Active

Spotting

Flanking

Backing

Narrative:

The greatest potential for fire growth continues to be on the north/northwest portion of the fire. General

winds did not significantly influence fire behavior as much as terrain driven winds along the 58 Road,

due to topographic influences. Flame lengths in the chaparral component are 4-6′ and up to 25′ or

greater when wind, slope, and fuels are in alignment. Rate of spread for this fuel type was at 1-2

chains/hour when backing and 30+ chains/hour when aligned with wind and slope.

Outlook
Planned Actions

Direct line construction for areas in Breezy Pines to stop Northward movement of fire line.

Scouting contingency lines to the North of the fire.

Fire suppression repair work to firelines.

Projected Incident Activity

12 hrs – to beyond 72 hrs: High spread potential to the North and Northwest, as fire will be influenced by terrain and

dense fuels. Spread potential to the South, will be limited as the Goodwin Fire has intersected

the 2012 Gladiator Fire and is close to the 2015 SA Hill Fire to the Southeast.
Remarks

Today, a briefing on the current fire situation was held for the Governor’s office. A community meeting was held in Prescott

Valley, for residents affected by the fire.
Current Weather
Weather Concerns

Today was slightly warmer and drier, with light southeast ridge

winds across higher elevations of west side becoming southwest.

Afternoon winds were breezy across lower elevations of the eastern

side. Wind aloft pushed the smoke column toward the northwest.

Expect limited upper slope are expected Saturday and stronger

Sunday. On Sunday and Monday, moisture will possibly increase

with higher humidity.
