The Forest Service will be cleaning up the forest near Walker Road, and the south of Walker.

Officially, “A combination of vegetation management treatments, including mechanized and non-mechanized fuels treatments, prescribed burning, and fuelbreak construction, would be used to achieve the purpose and need for action. The treatments being proposed are based on the vegetation being managed.”

The Hassayampa Landscape Restoration Project is designed to improve and maintain the health and resiliency of fire-adapted ecosystems, while simultaneously reducing hazardous fuels that pose a threat to life and property. The overall project will reduce fuels and restore fire as an ecological process on approximately 234,276 acres located primarily in the southern half of the Bradshaw RD.
