Residents of Potato Patch, Walker and Breezy Pines were among those who were evacuated from their homes and cabins. We have friends and family in each of those mountain communities who have either cabins or their primary residences there.
Fire Restrictions Lifted Monday, July 17 on the Prescott National Forest
National Forest Service announced that the fire restrictions will be lifted at Noon on Monday.

After a blistering couple of weeks in the 90s, followed by a threatening wildfire, the monsoons have finally begun in Walker.
I first saw them on Friday afternoon, July 7th.

U.S. Forest Service – Type 3 Team Assumes Command

At 6:00 am this morning, the local Type 3 Incident Management Team assumed command of the 28,516 acre fire.
The fire is currently 91% contained with 180 personnel assigned.
