This Labor Day is the big gathering to show our support for our fire fighters.

Look at photos from last year’s Annual Firefighter Appreciation Day here.

Here’s the email from Johnny O.

Our Annual Firefighter Appreciation Day/pig roast is just around the corner! September 2nd from 4-6pm.

Here’s a great way to thank your hard working volunteer fire fighters while packing in a year supply of cholesterol. The WFPA will smoke the pig, simmer some beans, offer light refreshments and a few big cakes. The rest is up to you…pot luck style. Please bring one of grandma’s favorite recipes as a side dish. We historically have run out of side dishes before the line runs through. This year I would like to suggest bringing side dishes only…NO DESSERTS PLEASE. The WFPA can order a few large cakes to satisfy those sweet teeth.

This is one of the best attended celebrations of the year, and it happens fast, so come early and make the most of it. Last year, we had over 250 people show up to offer their thanks. We will have music, a short program and lots of HOT, FRESH Walker Merchandise available. Seating can be limited, so please feel free to bring your own chair and even a pop-up canopy if you want to sit in the park area.

Thanks for another year of awesome, community support!

Hope to see you all there!

I’m Conrad Walton, a full time resident of Walker. We've lived through being snowed in and power outages. We have no other home. I'm a licensed real estate professional working for RealtyONEGroup, Mountain Desert, here in Prescott. My goal is to give back to the community by providing a common web site to support everyone’s efforts in the Walker area. Because I’ve been a web developer for over 20 years, building web sites is easy for me. I want to help in any way I can. This site is not owned by the WFPA or the WCAA or any other organization. I host it, manage it, and I am completely responsible for it.
