Hey folks just 5 more weeks until the next Walker Day. Seems like a long time…but not from here. Still lots to do.
I am looking for someone to run the Artist Market, silent auction and 50/50 drawing on Walker Day. For the Artist Market, that simply means assigning spaces that morning and coordinating cars coming in and out. I’m sure there will be people to help you, but I just need a go-to person. Basically from 8-10 am. The silent auction is about laying out some of our “better” donations and writing up bidding sheet, (I have them). We will close out the auction around 1pm. You will match up winners with their items and have them $ettle up. The 50/50 drawing is about organizing a few people to go out and sell tickets from 11-1pm. All pretty easy for a small team, but no easy for little ole me.
About 1/2 of the artist spaces are sold, but there are still 10 to go. If you know someone that would like to sell some art, please have them contact me.
We are ready to take in your donations for the yard sale. About 1/3 of the Walker Day proceeds come from our sales here. I have had very, very few items come in so far. Please dig deep. We can sell almost anything that
still has some life left in it. I have tax receipts available. Please mention this to anyone you know selling their house or cabin as we can usually get a truckload or two from those folks. I would usually have 1/2
the building filled by this time.
Last…for now…CAKES!. I had over 20 cakes last year and we ran out!
There were sooooo many visitors last year, over 500 for sure. EVERYONE LOVES the cake walk. Please let me know if you plan to make a cake or two…or more.
