Correction – road maintenance is only occurring between MM 8.9 and 10.8

PRESCOTT, AZ – October 26, 2023 – Beginning Monday October 30, 2023, The Prescott National Forest, working in conjunction with the Yavapai County Public Works Department, will begin road work on Senator Highway (C56) at approximately Mile Marker 10.4.

Construction is expected to continue through November 3, 2023.

The road construction will require the intermittent closure of Senator Highway (C56) near mile marker 8.9 and 10.8 and Walker Road (C57) near mile marker 11. Closures may be lengthy, lasting up to an hour or more throughout the day. Work hours are from 7:00AM to 5:30PM. Work will consist of debris removal from the road.

Access for residents and Emergency personnel beyond mile marker 8.9 of Senator Highway are encouraged to use Walker Road (C57) to minimize delays.

During construction, motorists are expected to respect and follow temporary traffic control measures which may include but not limited to temporary traffic signs, signals, and flagging operations.
