We made the paper!

“It really is a miracle that a nonprofit fire department can still be in business after 50 years. It’s quite a complicated machine that we’ve created,” Ohanesian said. “We could be a model for fire departments across the county. That’s how smooth this place runs, but it only comes from the commitment of the people that live here. They may be third generation Walker-ites, it’s because they love the community and they want to protect the forest.”

Held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walker Fire House, 5881 S. Walker Road, the yard sale goes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a free shuttle service for those parking away from the event. For more information, visit www.walkerday.org.
